Thanksgiving 2008

We spent Thanksgiving in Orlando this year because we are going to North Carolina for two weeks in December. We spent a few days with grandpa and grandma Veith and a few other relatives. On Thanksgiving we filled ourselves with turkey, stuffing and much more. The next day we spent time with Doran's cousin Joy. We were able to take a nature hike and enjoy some wonderful soup made by Joy's husband Stig. Joy has some cute boys and my boys were happy to meet new cousins! Saturday we took a canoe trip to some fresh water springs. The kids had a blast looking at nature. They really like the gators. I however was not to happy to be sharing the same water with them. Grandma learned how to Kayak and that was fun the watch. She liked it so much she wants grandpa to get her one. Grandpa and grandma took our family and Lisa, Doran's sister, to a show. The kids really enjoyed the Christmas themed Arabian Night's horse show. We had a wonderful and busy time in Orlando. Enjoy pictures from our trip by clicking on the link above.

Bryce received A/B Honor Roll for the first quarter! Way to go Bryce! Keep up the good work. Colton does not have a award ceremony yet, but he also had all A's & B's. We have some hard working, bright boy's. They must get that from their mom! : )

Austin had his 5th grade award ceremony today. We are so proud of all he has done this year. He received two gold medals. The first gold medal was Academic (Summa Cum Laude) for highest honors in academics (all A's). Second he received a leadership (Summa Cum Laude) gold medal for his outstanding leadership for the 5th grade. We are so proud of him and we know the Lord is even prouder!

Way-Fest 2008

This past weekend we went to way-fest with my sister and some others friends. Way-Fest is a christian music festival. Toby Mac is one of our families favorite artist and he was the headliner. Relient-K was also a featured artist of the concert. The kids had a good time running around with their friends, eating snowcones, and enjoying Noah's Ark petting zoo. The night ended with a great firworks show. You can enjoy more pictures to the left.

With our upcoming trip to North Carolina fast approaching we thought we even have to keep the dog warm. Austin saw this cute sweater for the dog and talked me into getting it for him.

International Day at CCA

This past Friday the kids school had a day devoted to praying and talking about international missions. The kids dressed up in international wear. Colton was from China, Bryce was a Chinese soldier, and Austin wore christian wear.(Click picture to see larger)

Well school is in full swing and as you can tell from the lack of blog entries we have been very busy! "Grandma North Caroline" came to visit for a week, and I had my class over for a party. We had around 40 people running around this place! I am able to work on the blog today because my little Bryce has been running a fever since yesterday.

AIR GUN FUN!!!

Well, the boys earned all their allowance this month! They have been so well behaved and have been working hard at school. They decided they wanted to get air guns! I know some of you think I am nuts but hey, I have all boys. They got the gear for protection and it's better then having paint all over my yard from paint balls. Dad set up a course in the yard with chairs and garbage cans. They had a blast and Austin even invited a friend that has a air gun over as well. They spent hours on Saturday and Sunday playing in the yard.

Family Retreat to Orlando Florida

Orlando Family Retreat

This past Labor Day weekend we went on a family retreat with our church. We went with about 15 other families we know to Orlando. The kids had a blast hanging out with their friends and visiting Sea World. It was fun for Doran and I as well. We got to take a workshop on parenting teenagers....Austin thinks he is one now. : ) It was great to just sit with friends and laugh allot! The resort was beautiful. One of the kids favorite things about the hotel was the soft pillows on the bed. (See the picture in the slide show) Monday Doran's mom and dad came to hang out with us. We had lunch together and got to see their pictures from their trip to Europe this summer. If you click on the slide show to the left you can view pictures from our trip.

Colton is 7!!!

I can't believe how big he is getting! His sweet spirit brings me joy everyday! Colton had a few of his good buddies over for a little party. They fished and swam and did what boy's do : )

Surf Fun!!!

The kids have been taking surf lessons on Saturday. They have been trying to practice in the pool...minus the waves : ) I don't think Sparky is to happy about the sport the boys have taken up....

Island's of Adventure and Universal

We had a great 4 day weekend in Orlando. We went to Island's of Adventure and Universal. The kids had so much fun. This was really the first time they went on any roller coaster type rides. Island's of Adventure has a Jurassic Park section, and the kids were ecstatic. We also spent a day with Lisa. We went swimming and grilled together. We had a little cake to celebrate her ? birthday : )

The boys have been roller blading but never roller skating. They thought it was funny the skates had four wheels. They had a blast!!! They sure fell a lot but were determined to keep going. They skated for about an hour before they had enough.

Dawn this is for you : ) Dawn went on vacation and we watched her baby Charlie for the week. They played 24/7. When Charlie left Sparky was crying!!!

Boy's with guns!!!

We all know boys love to play with guns!! Austin had his first experience with paintball. He had a blast with his buddies (and only a few welts : ) this past weekend. He has informed us he wants to try it again with his brothers.

Key West 4th of July Weekend

We spent a long Fourth of July weekend with friends in Key West. There was 20 people in one house (11 were kids!!!). It was alot of fun! We went fishing, snorkling, and the kids did a little knee boarding!! They loved it and and have informed Doran they want a boat so we can do more water sports.

We had a Fun packed weekend!! We went biking at a local park, went to Jackson's ice cream ,(those from south Florida know Jackson's) and went out on the Dania Beach Pier. The kids loved the pier! It was great....except for the smelly dead fish!

The Kids have been doing alot of swimming. I am sure swimmers ear is around the corner.... We had Doran's picnic for work today. I included a little slide show of the boys (Colton and Byce) climbing the rock wall. They did not go to high but they tried. Austin was a chicken and did not want to go on.

WII Fun !!!!

I should know better then trying to play the kids!!! I decided to jump in and try today...not a good idea. Austin creamed me in tennis and beat me by 30 point in bowling.

Summer Is Here!!!

My sister Kate did this great blog for her son John, and I thought why not? I am off for the summer and have a little time, and it would be a great way to keep in touch with family and friends and let them know what the Veith Five are up to. We finished school for the year and are enjoying our summer!! Having a break from the crazy school year(and those who know us well know our house is a zoo : )is great!!! We have been sleeping in late and having fun with our dog Sparky!! Colton has been taking some art classes this week at a art studio. He has been bringing home lots of paintings!! I think he does a good job for a six year old. What do you think?

Here is a picture of our new dog Sparky. He is so much fun and the kids are really enjoying him!! He is about 7 months old and is a Yorkie. He is much better behaved than Joey and Copper were. We found another home for Joey and Copper. : )

We are trying to make our foo foo dog seem a little tougher...hence the Harley Davidson color and scull and cross bones charm.
